Gearing up for the Season

Well, I haven't gotten very far in culling the craft room- but I did manage to clear off the table, which made it easier to be productive. I wanted to share a couple of cards with you that I created for Halloween. I know its a tad early, but its my favorite season, so I cant help it.

I experimented with coloring these two cards using the Stampin' Up markers and blender pen. I like the one on the left because of the messy sky coloring. I used the blender pen to pick up ink from the marker and smear it around, like watercoloring. On the right side card, I used the markers to color in the image, them "blended" with the blender pen.

The stamp set I used is a retired SU set called Halloween Smiles. Black, only orange, and bravo burgundy card stock, and ribbon from my stash.

Confessions of a Craft Collector

I have two confessions to make. First, I am a chronic collector extraordinaire- I'll admit to that. I have tons of really cool crafting stuff that I've stockpiled and squirreled away. Second, I am a messy person. I really strive to be organized and I even make all sorts of "lists". I love making lists because I get to use the pretty little pens and notepads that always find their way home with me. But do I actually use those lists? Nut-uh, no way.

I love how my mind overflows with ideas as I walk through the stores or sift through catalogs to find the right accessory or bling for my next project. Unfortunately, the vessel in which those ideas are collected has a slow leak, so once I get my treasure home I pile it away in my craft room and forget about it. What! You mean we're actually supposed to use our supplies? Come on, how many of you really use all of your craft supplies? Yeah, I thought so. ;)

So, that brings me to today. I'm in the middle of a craft room redo. I'm lucky enough to have my very own room for this purpose, but it  also seems to serve as the place to drop anything that does not seem to have a home anywhere esle in the house. Which, in turn, makes it even harder for my wandering mind to focus on finding the hidden treasures and yes, actually using them. Today, I pledge to fix that. Off to the craft room! (Insert Indiana Jones music here.) Wish me luck!
